Painter and illustrator, Liz Defrain earned her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She was born in Ontario, Canada and grew up in Bermuda. She has also lived in Miami, New York City, Jersey City, and, currently, Baltimore.

Her paintings are always in bold, static colors, using acrylics and chalk. She is greatly influenced by her island upbringing and her experiences of as a city dweller.
